You should get some antibiotic cream on this it is inflamed in spots which will lead to infection and loss of color which will leave you with spots within the tattoo containing no ink.
A tattoo should never scab if it does the artist went to deep into the skin surface.
A fresh tattoo should appear slightly flushed or pinky for a few hours after which it should return to normal if it doesn't infection is indeed in the future if precaution is not taken .
It takes no longer then 3-4 days to heal a properly done tattoo and should never have scabs on it .

and your buddy is right on the money this is a minimum tat design it should have only been about 80 max for one them . Your buddy not ripping you off
